Snowshoe in the South Hills!
Date: Saturday, February 1st, 2014
Come spend an afternoon exploring the South Hills in a whole new way! A great activity for all ages, we''ll spend the afternoon snowshoeing to some of the most picturesque and hidden scenery in the South Hills.
This activity is open to CSI students, staff and faculty, but due to a limited amount of gear, there are only spaces for 11 participants. If you have your own gear, you are welcome to meet us there and participate for free!
We will meet in the parking lot of Magic Mountain at 1:00pm, and will snowshoe until about 4:30pm. We will do two loops, so participants have a choice to do one or both loops of the hike.
Cost: $7 per person, includes gear only.
Age: 14 and older
What to Wear: We will be hiking in deep snow, so wear warm clothes (in layers!), jeans and sweat pants NOT recommended. Recommend nylon, ski, or water resistant pants or gaiters. Wear warm, sturdy boots fit for the snow. Gym shoes NOT recommended. Sunglasses, sun screen, and gloves HIGHLY recommended.
What to Bring: A backpack for snacks, extra layers, or to carry your personal items; WATER, Chapstick, and anything you might need for the day! A camera is also recommended, as we will stop to rest occasionally, and will always stop for a photo op!
